“I started exploring art using oil paints in the late 1970s.
After a hiatus to raise a family, I returned to
painting in 1998, this time working in watercolor.
For the last couple of years, I’ve begun working in
collage, assemblage or a combination of media as a means of
expression. Working
in watercolor has a spontaneity and fluidity to it that
presents some challenges in both execution and technique.
The joy and energy I get from successfully working in
watercolor though is one of the true pleasures in my life. Working
in mixed media, and discovering new methods, tools, and
papers has brought a new excitement to my creative process.
My imagination is fired by not knowing just where a
new piece might take me, and what the final result of my
initial creative concept might be. As I work through a new creation, I try to take the
road less traveled, to see if it really does make all the
difference.
My work, in any
medium, gives me peace and joy to create.
I hope my art makes you stop and take a second look
and gives you as much pleasure exploring it as it gave me to
create”.
